Rock, Roll & Run Weekend
The first weekend in March, Downtown Albany comes alive with runners, walkers, bicyclists, families, and friends. We kick off the day with a full and half marathon at 7am. The Albany marathon® powered by Snickers® has been listed annually as one of the top 10 Boston Marathon qualifiers. We offer a flat, spectator-friendly course. We pride ourselves on giving our runners an extraordinary experience with a weekend full of fun events. The marathon and half marathon are open to runners and walkers of all ages and skills.
At noon the Mardi Gras Music Festival starts rocking downtown and features bands, kid’s activities, vendors and crafters until midnight. The Flint RiverQuarium has an annual Turtle Race with a chance to win $1 million dollars. The SB&T Bike Race kicks off with a short TT Saturday morning using the Criterion course. Finish out the weekend with the Road Race on Sunday. Events feature race support, wheel trucks, neutral mechanics, and race announcing.
