Eight ways the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau can help you plan your family reunion
Planning a family reunion is a big job but it’s a great way to experience all of the fun things to do in Albany, Georgia, and, with the help of your friends at the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau, you don’t have to tackle all the planning on your own. As a result of the room nights generated through the area’s accommodations, the Albany CVB is able to provide complimentary services to groups and events. Here’s a quick list of the ways we can assist in family reunion planning, at no cost to you!
- Hotel Accommodations Bids: First thing first—where are you going to stay? With so many wonderful lodging options in Albany, it can be daunting to reach out to each individual property to ensure your group gets the very best rate. Does your group have specific needs? Looking for pet friendly options or properties with a swimming pool? We will send out a price bid for your group to our area hotels. A list of hotel accommodations will then be provided for your group. Contact us for more information on getting this process started.
- Facility Rental Options: Depending on the size and needs of your group, we can help you narrow down the options. From a picnic at Chehaw Park and Zoo’s
covered pavilion or Chehaw’s Creekside Education Center with onsite catering to a lovely event at The Shackelford House, there are so many unique venues to choose from in Albany. We will help you find the one most suitable for your group and will assist you in sending out requests for proposals. - Catering Options: We are happy to provide you with a list of catering options and assist with sending out requests for proposals to help make the process smoother. From seafood and steaks to barbeque and soul food, Albany has something for every group and every palate!
- Visitor Bags: The Albany CVB will happily provide up to 125 complimentary visitor bags with one complimentary item when a minimum of five hotel rooms are booked. It’s important to note that we kindly ask that you give us a 15-day notice if you are requesting Visitor Bags. Complimentary visitor bags include an Albany Visitors Guide and one souvenir of Albany.
- Albany Event Calendar: The Albany CVB has a weekly newsletter of events to find out what’s happening in the area. Newsletters are emailed out each Wednesday.
