While you're here

Most of the Albany State homecoming festivities will take place in Downtown Albany or at ASU's East Campus. While you're in the area, spend time exploring what Downtown Albany has to offer. Add the Albany Civil Rights Institute to your weekend itinerary. The museum offers a walk-through tour of the Albany Movement and its impact on Albany in the past and present. Caffeinate for the next homecoming event at the charming downtown coffee shop, Cornerstone Coffee & Company. A few doors down find The Flint, an upscale Albany eatery and bar. Perfect for catching up with fellow alumni or a nightcap.

Friday October 18

The ASU homecoming celebrations kick off on Sunday, October 13, but the excitement truly ramps up on Friday, October 18. Alumni are invited back to their alma mater to enjoy delicious food and great music all day long. Events on Friday include the ASU Alumni & Community Street Festival, Homecoming Welcome Home Day Party, and an Alumni Association Fish Fry.

Saturday, October 19

After a busy Friday celebrating homecoming or traveling to Albany, start your Saturday with the most important meal of the day: breakfast. Our top recommendations for a hearty start include Pearly’s Famous Country Cooking or Mayberry Diner. Comfort food is perfect for an electric game day! With breakfast in hand, head back to Downtown Albany for Albany State’s Homecoming Parade from 9 AM to 11 AM. Prepare to be wowed by spectacular performances from local bands, groups, and civic organizations. Don’t miss Albany State’s Marching Show Band and the Golden Passionettes—they’re crowd favorites!

Next, make your way to Albany State’s Coliseum to watch the Golden Rams take on Morehouse College, starting at 2 PM. Visitors will be thrilled to see Albany State’s newly renovated football field, adorned in the beautiful blue that represents school pride. During the game, alumni can reconnect at the Homecoming RAMily Meetup, a fantastic opportunity to catch up with fraternity brothers, sorority sisters, and fellow campus organization members. Win or lose, the Unsinkable Albany State homecoming celebrations will continue after the football game. Join friends and family at the Back to the Yard Celebration Concert at ASU’s Lower East Campus from 6 PM to 10 PM.

Sunday, October 20

Before you head home, take some time to reflect on the wonderful memories made during Albany State’s 2024 Homecoming events. Relax in nature with a stroll through Downtown Albany’s Riverfront Park or stop into the Flint RiverQuarium to catch a glimpse at their fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Before you travel home, share stories over brunch at Decanter international Chophouse.
