Albany's Premier Quail Hunt

Join the Southwest Georgia Chapter of Quail Forever for their annual Quail Invitational in Albany, GA, from January 23-25. Hunters from near and far will enjoy a weekend of hunting at public and private plantations, eating delicious food, and mingling at hospitality events. Your payment covers lodging at host hotelier, Merry Acres Inn—a newly renovated and historic boutique motel in Albany—along with food and beverages for the two-and-a-half-day event, transportation to event venues and hunt locations, shells, and the exclusive hunts.

Merry Acres Inn, under new ownership, is excited to welcome hunters back this January. The attached Manor House Pub offers hunters a tavern atmosphere to grab a drink and enjoy conversations with fellow hunters. No shells? No dogs? No problem! Shells are covered in the registration fee and will be distributed by event staff. As for dogs, each hunting location proudly provides professionally trained dogs for hunts, handled by their guides.

Participants need a valid Georgia hunting license and proper gear. Allowed shotguns are .410, 28, and 20 gauge, and must be over-and-under or side-by-side. Hunters are required to wear safety vests during the hunt. Protective boots and pants are recommended as these hunts last several hours and include walking through Southwest Georgia terrain. If you forget any gear, check out Albany’s outdoorsman paradise, Ivey’s, for your favorite brands like Drake, Barbour, and Carhartt, and a collection of guns from Remington to Winchester, all approved by avid hunters.

The exciting weekend of hunts and the best of Georgia’s hospitality wraps up with a closing banquet dinner and silent auction. This final event is not to be missed! Guests come for the excellent catering but stay for the illustrious auction prizes, ranging from hunting dogs to hunting trips.
