Celebrate Albany’s Thriving Art Scene at The Heart of Albany Festival
Fall marks festival season in Albany and one of the area’s most popular festivals has a new name this year.
Mark your calendar for The Heart of Albany Festival, formally known as the Albany Museum of Art’s Chalk Fest, happening November 4, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beloved by visitors and locals alike, this festival also has a new location this year. This year the event will take place on the museum grounds located at 311 Meadowlark Drive in Albany and admission is free.
Now in its sixth year, this annual fall festival will feature art, craft beer, music, kids activities, food trucks and art vendors. Festival goers can watch as professional chalk artists create 50 square foot and larger works of art on the pavement while enjoying live music, art demonstrations, food, libations and more. Live music performances will take place throughout the day on the James M. Barnett, Jr. Foundation Stage. Enjoy performances by Ballet Theatre South, showcasing scenes from The Nutcracker, and take in the musical magic of Songwriters in The Row featuring Cliff Corr and Aaron Lee.
