“As we celebrate International Women’s Month, I want to take a moment to reflect on the vital role women play in leadership—especially right here in our community. Serving as Chief of Police at Albany State University and as President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police has given me a unique perspective on the strengths and qualities women bring to the table. In these roles, I’ve witnessed how women leaders are not only role models for future generations but also true drivers of positive change. We bring compassion, resilience, and a collaborative spirit—qualities that drive innovation and help create more inclusive environments. I am inspired every day by the dedication of women who break barriers and lift others as they rise. This month, I encourage all of us to honor the achievements of women in leadership and to recognize the collective progress we’re making. By sharing our stories and supporting one another, we can continue to pave the way for a more equitable and empowered future for everyone in our community. It is my passion to help women realize their full potential and to foster an environment where growth and empowerment are at the forefront.” – Dr. Anita Allen
