It’s just natural to love Albany, Georgia. Creating a list of eight reasons why was so easy! I could have gone on all day, but instead I focused on the most important reasons of why a vacation here is a must.
-
Wide Selection of Attractions – Albany houses a Zoo, RiverQuarium, Museum of Art, Civil Rights Institute, and a History/Science museum. Whew, that’s a lot of good stuff. No matter your interests, there’s something for everyone!
-
Yummy Eats – Albany has tremendous restaurants that cater to all sorts of palates. From classic country cookin’, to steakhouses, seafood, ethnic cuisine and more, there are so many options that I usually flip a penny to decide where I’m going for dinner.
-
Downtown Brewery – Pretoria Fields Collective is an awesome asset to the ABY community. Located downtown, this brewery serves up four core beers, as well as seasonal additions. With weekly bingo, live music nights, and a fun outdoor space, this is one of my favorite spots to kick back and relax.
-
The People – Sure, us southerners are well-known for our hospitality, but there truly is something special about Albany. We live the Good Life in Albany; friendly folk are found all over this city.
-
Outdoor Recreation – If you love the great outdoors, we got you covered. Kayak the Flint River or spend some time at our 800 acre park at Chehaw, having a picnic, biking, or playing disc golf.
-
Affordable – Albany is an in incredibly affordable destination. Our Museum of Art as well as Thronateeska Heritage Center are both free attractions. All other attractions are less than $12 for adults and even less for children.
-
Easily Accessible – From car or plane, Albany is super easy to get to, despite being off the beaten path. We are conveniently located off I-75 and I-10. If flying is more your speed, we got you covered. Yes, 3-4 flights a day depart from Atlanta to Albany!
-
Family-Friendly – We are an extremely family-friendly destination. All of our attractions are fun, educational and well-worth the road trip snacks.
