Take a deep breath of that fresh, summertime air! In southwest Georgia, we relish the opportunity to get out of the house and spend some time outdoors, and you should too when you come to see us. We have so much to do and to explore in Albany! The hot weather makes it the perfect time of year to float the Flint with Kayak Attack Adventures. The Flint is one of only 40 rivers in the continental US flowing unimpeded for more than 200 miles, making it an ideal location for canoeing and kayaking. With two new launches open, visitors can adventure between several points of interest, including beautiful Radium Springs Landing, and Kayak Attack will meet you with your equipment at your desired drop-in point.
Other options for outdoor adventure include making a splash at the Festival Springs Fountain, open between Memorial Day and Labor Day, bike rentals from the Welcome Center, a walk on the beautiful Riverfront/Greenway Trail, fishing on the shoals of the Flint (there’s great fishing from Riverfront Park!), enjoying the natural beauty of the Monarch Butterfly Pollinator Garden, and so very much more! Check out the outdoors section of our website for even more information on all the ways to enjoy the natural beauty that Albany has to offer.
