Fridays on the Flint: Albany is kicking off the school year with a Back to School Bash on Friday, from 6–9 p.m., September 5, at Veterans Park Amphitheatre. Presented by Five Star Credit Union, this free community event will feature live music from the Essence Band, a variety of food trucks, and a lively kid’s zone designed for family fun. Cookies & Corks: Mark your calendar for this inaugural event that is sure to be exciting! Raise a glass at the first annual Cookies & Corks fundraiser happening September 19, 2025, at the Doublegate Country Club. This festive evening will feature wine tastings, heavy hors d’oeuvres and exciting raffle prizes. Guests are also invited to try their luck in the popular cork pull where every participant takes home a fabulous bottle of wine. An Evening with Russ Clayton: Celebrate the life and artistic legacy of renowned wildlife artist, Athos Menaboni, at the Albany Museum of Art, featuring a special talk with Russ Clayton. Clayton will share his deep knowledge of and personal connection to the Menabonis. Marking what would have been Menaboni’s 130th birthday, the Albany Museum of Art honors an artist whose passion for conservation had a lasting influence on southwest Georgia’s cultural landscape.
