ALBANY, GA – Volunteers are needed for the 9th Annual Albany Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Volunteers can sign up online at www.AlbanyMarathon.com. Follow the volunteer link at the top of the webpage to DoItSports.com. Assignments include Course Marshall, Expo/Registration, and Finish Line. Descriptions of what is entailed for each position are provided. Volunteer forms are also available and can be turned in at the Albany Welcome Center. Responsibilities are available until spots are filled.
Road Marshals are especially needed at strategic intersections throughout the city to guide runners along the route, prevent traffic turning into the course, and to be cheerleaders, creating energy and enthusiasm for those working to achieve their personal best.
“Each year, the Albany Marathon is commended on our volunteers” said Rashelle Beasley, Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau Director and Race Director of the Albany Marathon. “This race shows off the spirit of Albany’s people and could not be successful without all the community support.”
Volunteering with the Albany Marathon is a great opportunity for families and organizations to get involved with one of the communities largest events. Each volunteer will receive a t-shirt and a ticket to the Mardi Gras Street Festival.
