Opening Reception of a Room of Her Own
Overview
Join us at the Albany Area Arts Council’s Carnegie Library for the opening reception of A Room of Her Own. Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s famous essay, this group exhibition speaks to the importance of creative space—both physical and conceptual—for women artists. Each artist will have a dedicated space where they explore themes of what it means to be a woman. Our featured artists for this year's exhibition include Maya Johnson
Tram Vi Nguyen, Madye Carter, Britny Wray, and Nia Hawkins.
A Room of Her Own is a group exhibition staged annually at the Albany Area Arts Council allowing selected female artists to curate and show their work through the duration of Women's History Month.
The opening reception will be held Thursday, March 19th from 6–8 PM at 215 N. Jackson St., Albany, GA 31701.
The exhibition will be on view March 19 - April 30, 2026, during gallery hours Monday–Thursday, 12–4 PM (or by appointment).
