NEW SHIPLEY DONUTS SHOP NOW OPEN IN ALBANY

Shipley Donuts, the iconic Texas-born donut and kolache brand, opened its newest Georgia location in Albany at 2723 Dawson Rd. The new shop, owned by Danielle and Randy Morrow, is open daily from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Founded 90 years ago in Houston, Shipley offers more than 40 kinds of fresh, handmade-daily donuts, including its famous signature glazed donut, which is cut into its iconic hexagon shape then carefully glazed to sweet perfection and served warm until 11 a.m. daily with Shipley’s Hot Glazed Guarantee. Every Shipley Donuts shop is a working bakery, with bakers arriving at 2 a.m. to make the first batch of fresh donuts.

The new shop will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Jan. 17 beginning at 5 a.m. and the first 100 guests will receive free donuts for a year*. Guests who visit the shop throughout the day will also receive a free glazed donut with any purchase while supplies last.

There will also be Shipley merchandise giveaways throughout the day, a face painter and a balloon artist onsite from 8-10 a.m.

Shipley is also known for its Texas interpretation of kolaches (kuh-LAH-chees), Czech pastries with fillings baked inside like a breakfast sandwich, and offers them in several fresh, savory, house-made varieties, including Bacon, Egg & Cheese, Ham & Cheese and Sausage, Jalapeno & Cheese.
