Adventure Seekers: What’s in Your Water?

Join The Flint RiverQuarium staff as they explore What's in Your Water at this month's Adventure Seekers family program. Become a scientist for a day and help test water from the Flint River! Study macro invertebrates that are found in the water and learn important lessons on how to keep the water clean for not only the animals who call it home, but us too. The Flint RiverQuarium puts safety for its guests first; the facility will be thoroughly sanitized and social distancing will be implemented. Masks are strongly encouraged. The price of the event is included in admission to the Flint RiverQuarium, and free for members. Homeschool Day

Homeschool Day

Homeschool Day is a 90-minute program designed for students in K-5th grade. It starts at 11 am and is conducted on the second Thursday of the month from September through May. Each month’s session incorporates a current AMA art exhibition and includes an art project that connects with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) education, gallery tours and more. The cost for Homeschool Day is $5 per student for AMA members and $10 per student for future members. Students who participate in Homeschool Day will be asked to comply with AMA visitation policies, including the wearing of masks for the protection of other students and AMA staff. Fitness on the Flint: CALISTHENICS

Run and fun! This workout will consist of short runs, high intensity body weight movements, and rest/recovery periods. We will apply the fundamentals of CrossFit, defined as constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Functional exercises are ones that mimic real-life movements, and usually require little to no equipment, like burpees, push-ups, and sit-ups, combined with running and other cardio activities. These classes will be scalable for everyone, from the advanced athlete to the beginner. Everyone will get a good sweat on. So come out and we will have some fun, get our sweat on, and meet some new friends by the river! Go >

This is a high intensity interval training blended with fundamentals of boxing. Together making it an exciting cardio and core workout. In this class we will utilize the basic techniques of boxing combined with some plyometric movements, For a fully body workout toning your upper and lower body while strengthening you core. So, lets grind it out, burn some calories and "Train like a champ" Fitness On The Flint Work Out and Cocktail Series Saturday, September 12. 229 Yoga will host the work out, Cardio Boxing, and participants will enjoy the choice of a mimosa or glass of wine at the end of class! Please bring your own mat for class. Participants must be 16 or older to participate in the workout. Class will start at 10:30am, check in will start at 10:00AM. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased by calling the Albany Civic Center Box Office at 229.302.1401 or by emailing david.sanford@spectraxp.com - Monday through Friday 10AM to 5PM.
