Camp begins Tuesday, June 1, 2021, and comes to a close on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day! Early registration begins Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the 2021 Albany Summer Showcase from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The early registration fee is $100 per participant. General registration begins May 1, 2021. The general registration fee is $120 per participant. Campers will participate in activities covering: S.T.E.A.M. City of Albany Georgia Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration

This is a very special 4-day inaugural Juneteenth commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation will begin this coming week. The opening event for the Albany Georgia Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration begins at 6pm on Thursday, June 17, with a ZOOM Frontline PBS Presentation. The Juneteenth Gospel Extravaganza featuring the Citywide Mass Choir will take place at 7pm on Friday, June 18 in Union Missionary Baptist Church, 214 E. Oglethorpe Boulevard. Saturday, June 19, is a full, busy day for the inaugural event, beginning with a Juneteenth Freedom Walk starting from the Albany Civil Rights Museum at 7:30am and ending at Union Missionary Baptist Church where breakfast begins at 8:30 am. Covid vaccination and voter registration units will be on hand from 9-5 on Saturday. The "Juneteenth Free-ish Panel Discussion" is from 10:00 to 11:00 and "Social Injustice Townhall" is from 11:30-12:30, both at Union Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday. Mrs. Shirley Sherrod and women who were the "stockade girls" imprisoned as teens in the sixties will be on hand. Then get ready for a spirited FAMU 100 DRUM LINE show at 12:45pm at the church site. Leaving from there from 1:30-4:30 pm on Saturday are Freedom Ride Tours to historic Civil Rights sites in the Albany and Americus area, including stops at the Leesburg stockade, Koinonia Farms, and important Americus sites. The events will culminate on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Union Missionary Baptist Church with a special 3pm "Get Together Worship" that will include the Freedom Singers. The only costs are the bus tours ($25/adult, $8/child) and a nominal charge for the Saturday breakfast. This is a chance to learn more about the history of Albany and Americus and to be part of a traditional celebratory event. Go >
