What are your plans for the summer? Join Albany Recreation & Parks for their 2021 Youth Summer Camp! This fun and creative camp is open to participants 7 to 12 years of age. Camp begins Tuesday, June 1, 2021, and comes to a close on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day! Early registration begins Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the 2021 Albany Summer Showcase from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The early registration fee is $100 per participant. General registration begins May 1, 2021. The general registration fee is $120 per participant. Campers will participate in activities covering: S.T.E.A.M. Turtle Island (Ages 5-12): Can you hear the drums? Thump, thump, thump. Each drum beat represents mother earth’s heartbeat. Ancient tribes believed earth was carried on the back of a turtle. Join us for a week of adventure where campers dip into the rich local Native American history and the culture’s deep ties to the animal kingdom with tracking, primitive technology, art creations, shelter building & more! When school is out Chehaw is the place to be. Each day of camp includes a trip to the zoo, animal encounters, crafts, games, activities, a snack, a Chehaw water bottle, and a cool camp T-shirt! Children will have fun while learning through hands-on activities. Full Day sessions are from 9a- 3p. Half day sessions are from 9a- 12p and open to campers age 4. Need a late pick up? After camp care is available until 6 pm for $10 per day or $40 for the entire week. Members receive 10% off each camp plus half price on after camp care. Save big on any camp session, register one camper for 4 camper sessions and receive $50 in savings. Team Chehaw is committed to the safety of our campers, staff, and zoological collection.
